Hi all,

Just thought I'd send a little blurb out about my trip

and check in:

Man, it's sweet up here!  We've already spent 8 days

in Denali NP doin' back country backpackin'.  We saw

grizzlies, Dall sheep, mountain goats, caribou, fox,

moose, marmots...  We saw 4 grizzlies in one day, two

humpin'!  It's wild, it's like walking through a zoo,

the grizzlies are right there, no bars, no nothin'

between you and them.  We saw Denali(Mt.McKinley)

which is an amazing sight.  It rises 18000 feet from

the valley floor (it's 20320ft high).

Get a load of this, we got a ride (thumbin') to

Fairbanks with this lady who's a dog musher.  She had

all her dogs in the back of the truck with her.  It's

was pretty cool talkin' to her.  She was amazing.

Ended up talkin' to this dude in a bar last night

until 2am, he's a forest fire-fighter.  Just had a

great outlook on life, very neat guy.  We're headin'

into the Yukon tomorrow to this town called Dawson

City.  Supposed to be just like it was a hundred years

ago.  Old saloons, casinos, shows, the whole deal and

it's in the middle of nowhere.

Still have 5 or so weeks left, sweet!

Peace,

-Tim
